Anand vs. Carlsen : Half-way Through, The Odds Are Still 50-50

World Chess champion Magnus Carlsen finally made a big mistake  in Game 6 of the World title  match at Sochi, Russia,  which could have cost him the game;  but he was miraculously saved by an equally mysterious mistake made by Anand in his response.

In her admirable online live commentary on Game-6, Susan Polgar observed:  This is a devastating blow for Anand.  He had the win in his hands and blew it.  Anand is a great champion.  He came back from losses before.  If he can fight like a Tiger with no fear, he still has a chance. . . .

CARLSEN BECAME THE WORLD CHAMPION MAINLY BECAUSE ANAND HAD MADE SEVERAL AWFUL MISTAKES IN CHENNAI LAST YEAR. VISHY'S TRUE WELL-WISHERS WOULDN'T WANT HIM NOW TO WIN JUST ON THE BASIS OF CARLSEN'S MISTAKES. 

BASICALLY WHAT THE TWIN MYSTERIOUS MISTAKES OF GAME-6 SIGNIFY IS THAT JUST AS VISHY HAS A MAGNUS-COMPLEX, MAGNUS TOO NOW SEEMS TO HAVE A VISHY-COMPLEX!  THAT MAKES THE ODDS 50-50, AND A MID-COURSE ADVANTAGE DOESN'T MEAN ULTIMATE VICTORY. 

SO MY ADVICE TO ANAND IS TO RELAX, AND FROM NOW ON RELY MORE ON INSTINCT THAN ON PREPARATION. MAY LORD VISHNU, THE INDIAN MEGA-GOD, BESTOW HIS BENEVOLENCE ON THE INDIAN ICON AND ENABLE HIM TO ACHIEVE FLAWLESS EXCELLENCE!
